Bayer Unveils New Cotton Pest Control Solution….

Kolkata, July 22, 2026: Bayer has launched Trance™, a next-generation insecticide designed to help cotton farmers effectively manage sucking pest complexes such as aphids, jassids and whitefly nymphs. Combining two complementary modes of action in a single formulation, the product offers broad-spectrum pest control while improving crop health, productivity and farm profitability.Cotton cultivation in India faces growing challenges from multiple pest attacks, increasing pest resistance and rising production costs, often leading to reduced yields and crop quality.

Trance™ has been developed to address these issues with two advanced chemistries that provide two-way systemic movement and translaminar action, protecting both existing foliage and new plant growth. Its rainfast formulation becomes effective within two hours of application and integrates well with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programmes. In addition to controlling pests, Trance™ promotes healthier crop canopies by rapidly stopping pest feeding, reducing crop damage and minimizing the need for repeated insecticide applications. This helps improve yield potential while enhancing farmers’ returns on investment.Commenting on the launch, Mohan Babu, Chief Operating Officer – India, Crop Science Division, Bayer, said, “At Bayer, innovation begins with understanding farmers’ evolving challenges. Sucking pest complexes have become increasingly difficult to manage due to multiple pest occurrences and rising resistance. Trance brings together two complementary modes of action in one innovative solution, offering effective and sustainable pest management while helping farmers improve crop health, productivity and profitability.”Trance™ will be available from July 2026 across key cotton-growing states, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Punjab, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and West Bengal.
