Bayer launches Xivana™ Smart for horticulture crops….

Kolkata | 3rd August, 2026: Bayer today announced the launch of Xivana™ Smart, a next-generation fungicide designed to protect high-value horticultural crops from destructive diseases such as downy mildew and late blight. Powered by a new active ingredient under FRAC Group 49, Xivana™ Smart provides effective disease control in grapes, cucurbits, potato and tomato, helping farmers protect crop quality and improve productivity.Downy mildew and late blight are among the most damaging diseases affecting horticultural crops, often accounting for a significant share of farmers’ crop protection costs. Changing weather patterns and prolonged humidity have further increased disease pressure, underscoring the need for effective, long-lasting crop protection solutions.Xivana™ Smart features a modern mode of action that delivers effective control against oomycete diseases, with protection lasting 7–14 days, even under rainy conditions.
